Snowy Easter

We have moved at last into our very own flat in London! It feels good to be in and unpack all those boxes we left packed up for the last 3 months. We moved Easter weekend, the weather was not the most fun to be moving in, but Jake got to feel snowflakes land on his face for the first time:) I know I know, not a big deal if you live in Canada, but all new for Jake!

It has taken BT (british telecom) 2 weeks to sort out our internet so after dozens of frustrating phone calls, we are finally back online! Unfortunately, now our laptop is in need of repair...

In other news...1 week till Grandma Bev & Grandpa Gordon arrive!!!

Singin in the rain

Gale force winds and flooding greeted the UK on Monday, especially along the coast. Thankfully for us, London just got the typical sleet and grey skies. Jake & I had a busy day planned, so a little rain couldn't stop us!

View from our flat in the morning

Waiting for the bus (our main form of transport next to walking everywhere) and Jake in his bubble. I remember seeing these rain covers thinking they looked ridiculous, but they have saved Jake from a good soaking so many times, I don't leave home without it.

Finally a break in the rain and Jake was more than happy to enjoy it in his little slicker!

Bubble boy is back when the rain started up again

Another tough day in the life of Jake...

Just a spoonful of sugar....

Happy Birthday Jake!
We had a low key celebration today. Big party to follow in April so this was just a warm up. Really can't believe he is 1!

Jake had a pretty happy day. He liked the flame on the candle (until I moved it out of reach) and so a few tears followed. These tears soon dried up when he tasted his birthday cupcake...bedtime was postponed for at least an hour while he ran off some of the sugar!

Of course earlier today we had to go to Jake's favourite place for his birthday, so we went to check on the animals at the little zoo.

Mum's Day part 1

Yep - I get 2 Mothers days a year:) One in the UK 'cause we live here, and one in Canada 'cause we're Canadian of course!

And just to prove we are actually in London, as lately it seems most of our pics are indoors, or at a park or playground, here is one from central London, Piccadilly Circus.
