Back to school

Jake - year 2, so excited to see his friends after summer break. His best friend Maisie even brought him a little boat from her holiday in Europe!

Ollie - nursery at the school (why can't they just call it pre-school?) Jake's friends gave Ollie a lot of attention all dressed up in his new uniform. He loved it. Daddy was there too and think that made him happiest of all:)

after school snack, his favourite salami sandwich from gail's but remove the pickles please:)

on pick-up announced 'I did everything they told me to mum' 

However by 6pm, was in bed after throwing up...sick of school already? groan...

Pink

Oliver's favourite colour is pink. And why not?  Yesterday, we bought him a second hand bike for £15 which is pink with streamers and pink basket on the back and heart on the front.  And some kids in the playground teased him about choosing a girl's bike, and others have teased him when he wears pink clothes and pink pajamas.  This doesn't seem to bother him too much, and is starting to realise these comments seem to follow when he turns up in pink. I have mixed feelings in that I want to protect him from this teasing, but also curious as to how he will respond. And also, why is this beautiful colour primarily reserved for girls? I love that he is confident enough to choose pink but sadly wonder how long it will last.

After our wedding 8 years ago, our photographer suggested going for ice cream and this turned out to be my favourite wedding photo.  We had so much with the kiddos enjoying ice cream at MacKays again!
