See you soon Auntie Jen!
Jake is as bad at good-byes as his mom! We took Auntie Jen to Paddington train station today to see her off, but Jake was not quite ready to part with his fave auntie yet. So we continued on to Heathrow to bid her a proper goodbye and say a big thank you for helping us survive the first couple of weeks! Jake already misses her cuddles and giggles and can't wait to see her again soon!
Last night we ventured to Soho for Dim Sum and made it home just before Jake had a meltdown - we are definitely working to his schedule at the moment...he is hiding under the blanket below...not a fan of all the crowds at oxford circus!

Jake's Excellent Adventure!
After 1 week in the flat, Jake decided to explore the neighborhood. First, he took his Mommy and Auntie to Marks & Spencer - one of the local grocery stores. Jake decided to leave the shopping to the ladies as he had a snooze on his first adventure.
Next Jake went on his first bus ride on a double decker bus! It was lots of fun as Jake loves to be in his snuggly! Jake led us to Raoul's - Mommy's favorite place for breakfast where we all enjoyed capaccinos & egg's benedict! For any of you that have been here to visit us, we probably took you to Raoul's for breakfast!! The trip was complete with a stop at Raoul's bakery for some yummy jam and tarts! What a fun day!!!
Jake had another bus ride today and he even tried out the top of the double decker bus en route to Hampstead. What a great view from the top!! Jake is excited for his grandparents to visit so he can take them on some adventures too!

Mother's Day!
In the UK, Mothering Sunday is March 18th (this year), and is now basically the equivalent to Mothers Day in other countries. It has been celebrated in the UK on the fourth Sunday in Lent since at least the 16th century. No one is absolutely certain exactly how the idea of Mothering Sunday began, but apparently on this day, about four hundred years ago, people who lived in little villages made a point of going not to their local church but to the nearest big church. To what was called the Mother Church. And some would go to the nearest city to worship in the cathedral.
The original meaning of Mothering Sunday in England has been largely lost, however due to my recent change in status, bring on the special treatment:) Oh and of course, I'm a 'mum' in the UK, not a 'mom'.
Happy Mothering Sunday to all mums out there!

Jake - 3 days old
Baby Jake is very healthy, and happy to be at home with Mom and Dad. Jake had his first breath of fresh spring air and first black taxi ride on Sunday morning when he and Mom were released from the hospital.
Jake loves to coo and sleep and be snuggled up in his blanket! Dad has mastered swaddling Jake in his blanket and changing his nappies!
Auntie Jen arrived in London on Saturday and got to meet Jake at 1 day old!
She's fallen in love with him too and is so happy to be here to visit and help out! Jake and his Auntie have become fast friends!!

Uncle Mike hopped on the tube from London Bridge and eagerly came over to meet Jake! No sooner was Mike in the door and Jake was in his arms! He's a natural!!
On Monday, baby Jake had his first smiles (likely from gas!) and is changing every day! His little cheeks are getting chubbier as he eats more and more each day!
Auntie Jen, Mom and Jake enjoyed the sunshine out in the garden today for a mini photo shoot as it was a sunny +15C!
