Cotswolds

We decided a weekend in the English countryside was in order for my birthday this year, so off to the Cotswolds we went. We drove about 2 hours west to Painswick, a sleepy little village in the heart of the cotswolds. It felt like we stepped back in time, everything was a much slower pace...including me on our 3 mile hike. Our hike started out beautiful, about half way thru, the rains came...see attached photo...but we managed to dry off in a local pub. And although we have heard that springtime is lovely, the autumn foliage was a treat and the hillsides were vibrant with all the oranges, reds and yellows you could hope for! We did get treated with some friendly local hospitality, complete with a little 89 year old lady waving us down for a lift to church!
